Description of the role

Bethesda requires a Full-Time Manager of Adult Services.

Working to promote Bethesda’s values, vision and mission statement, the Manager, Adult Services effectively manages, in conjunction with the Director, Adult Services the daily operations of the various programs in Adult Services to promote and ensure the goals and objectives of the organization and programs are met. The Manager, Adult Services provides planning, coordination and administration of the programs.

Key Job Responsibilities
• Provide direct leadership to specific programs as determined by the Director, Adult Services.
• Establish various program goals and ensure goals are aligned with program and organizational strategic goals.
• Facilitate change management, as required, from development to implementation and evaluation.
• Ensure programs are aligned with current Ministry of Children, Community and Children’s Social Services (MCCSS) directives and expectations.
• Design, implement, coordinate and evaluate various plans and programs to ensure program effectiveness
• Review, amend and approve all individual related plans
• Promote and enhance person centered, bio-psycho-social and caring approaches to care within Adult Services
• Review various internal and external reports for trends and/or highlights/concerns and develop, implement and evaluate various strategies to ensure optimal operation within Adult Services for all stakeholders.
• Provide on-call services for all Adult Services.
• Participate in the preparation of the program’s annual budget and ensure fiscal responsibility through budget management.
• Review, as required, departmental staffing budgets
• Ensure compliance with all internal Bethesda policies and procedures, legislation and applicable Collective Agreements.
• Ensure appropriate training and communication of all new or amended policies and procedures to appropriate staff.
• Ensure appropriate staffing is in place for all Adult Residential programs; utilize all internal resources and processes.
• Provide ongoing mentoring, coaching and training to Adult Residential management
• Ensure all Adult Residential staff receive appropriate training including all Bethesda Mandatory Training.
• Ensure appropriate staffing in place at all times to enable programs to meet program objectives and organizational objectives.
• Conduct all required performance management functions
• Ensure appropriate and productive staff meetings occur throughout Adult Residential Services and participate as required.
• Promote public awareness of the program in conjunction with the Director, Adult Services and Community Relations Coordinator.
• Provide leadership and initiate in the developing and maintaining positive relationships with stakeholders.

Education Requirements
Qualifications • University degree or College Diploma in related field. • Formal management training. • Demonstrated management experience. • Working knowledge of community services for adults and families • French/English bilingualism is an asset • Candidates must have a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
