Full Time Behaviour Therapist

POSITION OBJECTIVE

Bethesda’s Community Response Program requires one (1) Full Time Behaviour Therapist. Working to promote Bethesda’s vision and mission statement and quality client care, the Behaviour Therapist will provide Applied Behaviour Analytic Services to clients and their families, care providers, group home staff, mediators and agencies.

Some of the key responsibilities of this position will be:

Complete client intakes
Meet with existing group home staff and/or family members for information gathering upon client admission
Review Behaviour Support Plan and Behaviour Assessment Report with staff prior to admission
Provide staff training to staff/family teams upon discharge
Develop Behaviour Assessment Reports and Behaviour Intervention Plans.
Provide hands on training and support, model implementation of the BSP and provide in the moment staff coaching.
Create data collection sheets and monitor client Behaviour changes through data collection, Monitor and evaluate treatment outcomes
Problem solve or make revisions to Behaviour Intervention Plans
Receive Supervision from an Associate Clinical Supervisor and/or Clinical Supervisor as well as consulting Behaviour Analysts/Psychologists.
Ensure BSP’s are implemented effectively and accurately by conducting adherence checks, reviewing contact notes, observing staff, modeling, and data analysis
Perform internal or external referral to other agencies
Mediate programming disputes between families and support agencies
Meet with referring agencies and/or caregivers on a regular basis to monitor client progress
Report writing, graphing, pivot charts, and client discharge presentation to receiving agency
Knowledge of equipment that may be required for intrusive measures (for example, helmets, restraints etc.)
Develop and implement workshops for caregivers, community members and clients as needed
All other duties as assigned

Education Requirements
Registered Behaviour Analyst,  Registered with the College of  Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts Master’s Degree in Psychology, Applied Disability Studies or a related field. 3-5 years experience working with adults with development disabilities/behaviour challenges Member of the Ontario Association for Behaviour Analysis (ONTABA) Prior supervisory experience Ability to work independently and in a multi-disciplinary team Training and Development of Behavioural and Metal Health programing. Knowledge of Pharmacology is an asset Safety Care Trainer (or willing to become an Advanced Trainer) in a Residential Treatment Program Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Valid driver’s license
