During the webinar, questions came up from attendees about resources for gender diversity education in our sector; for both staff as well as the people we support. Below are some links on the subjects:
- Rainbow Health Ontario offers many training opportunities and resources to support staff to learn about the importance of inclusion and mental health for our LGBT2SQ communities
- The Canadian Centre for Gender & Sexual Diversity website is a great resource shared by our panelist Ty McNally
- Our Compass is a documentary film on persons with intellectual disabilities in the LGBT2SQ community
- Website for the agency on the Community Living Six Nations reserve where our panelist Shillene Dale works as Cultural Coordinator
- Baseball for Dad: Our panelist Louri Snider shared how important she feels it is for all staff to have a place they can talk about mental health. Louri shared with the Community of Practice that talking about mental health is a deeply passionate area for her, as she lost her son Mark to suicide in May 2019. Many heartfelt feelings came from the community through the chat function.
